Well, I predict that as good as life has been for me it’s only going to get better. Especially if I can accomplish the remaining 10 items on my bucket list, which are:
Become a scholar
Umpire a baseball game at any level
Ride a hot air balloon
Start a second family, aiming for 3 daughters
Visit the Holy Land
Learn Patrick-speak
Record Amazing Grace for posterity
Lead an insurrection on Mar-A-Lago
Take a cruise anywhere
Attend a happy hour with reassigned priests
But who am I kidding? Given my age and health issues that bucket list is just a dream.
As the song goes, “que sera, sera, whatever will be will be, the future’s not ours to see, que sera, sera”.
If I could do anything towards having a healthier remaining life it would be to exercise and lose weight. So there’s the answer as to what’s next for me. I’ll commit to that plan so I can then possibly have some viable options for fulfillment and enjoyment of my remaining days on this earth. As always, though, my most important future goal is to spend as much time as I can with my sons and their families and their pets.
